Portfolio Review Sessions 6 November, 4.30
Flip is looking for animators to get their showreel reviewed at this year’s festival. We introduced this session last year for the first time and it went down very well. It’s a great opportunity to get your showreel seen by professionals, to get expert feedback and to open doors to [...]

I came acoss this installation by Tim Knappen. The clever device instantly animates your drawing and projects it onto the ceiling. I came across this nice little animation via the new 4mations site, from the people at Trunk Animation I think, who we featured here at Flip a couple of years back. Anyway, it’s got me thinking again about my special project to programme a screening around animation and cats. I think we could do a [...]

The Great Animation Challenge closed on monday and I’m relieved to say we had some submissions. Not as many as I’d hoped for, well lets say 12. But nevermind it’s not the size of your competition that matters but the quality. And there are some pretty nice looking animations in there. See for yourself. Oh, [...]

It’s that time of year again, when we’ve been thinking about what Flip 09 branding will look like.
Usually this side of things is a result of a bit of planning and lots of luck. In the past we have seen images and art work from actual films or animators that we like and have adapted [...]
