Flip 09 is coming! Actually it’s a long way away but that doesn’t mean we’re not busy with the planning and the programming. We are busy. Lots of things are happening as we speak.
First there is the call for submissions, please note the earlier closing date this year to give us plenty of time to ponder over your films.
Second, I’m really pleased to say that those BAFTA nominated Brothers McLeod will be programming a festival strand – knowing the brothers, I suspect there will be lots of 1970s kids animation in there, here’s hoping.
Third, we have Flip films around the country: there’s a selection going out with Digital Arts Magazine next month and BBC Big Screens (all 15) will be showing a hand picked selection from this Saturday for a month – find out where your nearest BBC Big Screen is, www.bbc.co.uk/bigscreens/
